Aqua Yoga
Join us for the launch of our adapted aquatic yoga program! Run by a certified yoga instructor and aquatic therapist, participants will have the chance to gain body awareness, flexibility, and increased functional mobility! All participants must be taller than 4 feet 5 inches to participate.
Adaptive Sexual Education Class
Sexual education is a complex topic. McKenzie Schneider an Occupational Therapist and Behavioral Therapist, will talk parents and individuals through the basics of sex ed. This will include anatomy, hygiene, menstruation, pregnancy, dating safety, consent, masturbation, STDs, and Birth control. The material will be presented in multiple ways, and simplistic yet anatomically correct language will be used. PECS, social stories, and other resources will be used to support a variety of learners.
As this topic is more sensitive, we encourage families with loved ones 12 and older to attend this event. We will be discussing sex, consent, and other more personal issues. If you would like a copy of the notes/PowerPoint to review, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
This event will occur on October 28th from 9-12 at the Millard Library in Omaha. This is a FREE event. Light refreshments will be provided.
